Allie Part One| Charleston Dance Portraits

Charleston Dance Portraits with the amazing Allie from DanceFX

As I restart this business of mine, I’ve been trying to devote energy into what first drew me to it. Creating. When Allie, with DanceFX Charleston, reached out about updating her dance portraits it was a resounding YES!!!

I’ve photographed another dancer from DanceFX (as well as two of their shows) and working with dancers, is indescribable. They have an understanding of working to the camera and the lines of their body that us normal mortals don’t possess. This was one of my first studio session since the January pre-pandemic. I felt rusty, dusty and awkward. Awkward is sorta the main tool in my wheelhouse so I don’t think Allie noticed anything out of the ordinary. Once I hit my groove though…It Was On.

It was a much needed session for my soul. An opportunity to create. I loved capturing the beauty and grace and strength that is Allie’s amazing soul. We have at least one more (if not two) location sessions and if they are anything like this one, I can’t wait.
